Through its Neighborhood Improvement Programs, APCC offers support for community members in planning and development projects. Three programs provide direct services to residents and businesses in order to realize projects which improve and enhance the lives of community residents. TIF/NIP - Since 2001, APCC has coordinated the Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIF), which is part of the newly designated Lawrence/Kedzie Tax Increment Financing district (TIF). This program will make funds available to homeowners, within the TIF district, for home repairs. Renovations extend to multi-family buildings as well. Applications are taken once a year, followed by close monitoring of the quality of repair work.

Full Circle Community Mapping and Planning – Full Circle is APCC’s project to plan for the future of the Albany Park neighborhood.  Launched in the spring of 2004, Full Circle will

• identify the major concerns of residents and institutions living and working in Albany Park,
• prioritize those concerns, and
•  then create a plan for developing and implementing the necessary responses.

Recycling – The Albany Park Community Center promotes solid waste recycling by businesses and community residents through its Recycling project. A pilot project is being conducted in 2004-2005 under a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation.
