Neighborhood Improvement Programs Through its Neighborhood Improvement Programs, APCC offers support for community members in planning and development projects. Three programs provide direct services to residents and businesses in order to realize projects which improve and enhance the lives of community residents. The programs complement how APCC partners with civic, legislative, community and business leaders. For more information about these programs, call (773) 539-3828, or e-mail us at . TIF/NIP - Since 2001, APCC has coordinated the Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIF), which is part of the newly designated Lawrence/Kedzie Tax Increment Financing district (TIF). This program will make funds available to homeowners, within the TIF district, for home repairs. Renovations extend to multi-family buildings as well. Applications are taken once a year, followed by close monitoring of the quality of repair work. Recycling – The Albany Park Community Center promotes solid waste recycling by businesses and community residents through its Recycling project. A pilot project is being conducted in 2004-2005 under a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation.
