Super Saturday Bonanza Encourages Healthy Choices

On Saturday, February 24th the Albany Park Human Services Coalition, under the leadership of the Albany Park Community Center, hosted the first annual Super Saturday Bonanza at the new Aspira/Haugan Middle School. More than a dozen local social service agencies, organizations and businesses were on hand to to distribute information on making positive, healthy decisions for the whole family.

The many community members in attendance were able to take advantage of services such as aerobics and dance lessons, tax help and diabetes testing. Families also enjoyed family movies and recreational activities for the kids. Everyone was given a healthy snack and one lucky boy rode away on a raffled bicycle donated by Easy Rider Bike Shop. APHSC would like to thank all those who helped make this event a success, particularly Representative Richard Bradley, 17th District Police Commander Charles Dulay and the Healthy Albany Park Coalition.
